Why LNG ?

Floating marine technology and changes in the market have enabled the LNG value chain to be realised in the form of LNG to Power projects. LNG trading and effective sales models have helped to support the global reach of natural gas to power industries and communities whose growth would otherwise be hampered by the lack of energy infrastructure.

The most effective solution to deliver power to growing nations is with LNG, because LNG is easy to transport and it will allow for independence from gas pipeline infrastructure.

Receiving and Unloading LNG from Ships

LNG may be transported in small volumes by rail or truck, however transportation by ship is by far the most common way to carry larger volumes of LNG.
Shipping is a crucial part of the LNG value chain, and the ability to offload and reload LNG in a time-efficient and safe manner ensures the robustness of a global energy network, connecting supply side - liquefaction plants, and demand - regasification facilities and local distribution networks.

Onshore Terminal

Low investment risk: Cut capital spending significantly by avoiding large river, harbour or coastal engineering works.
Shorter lead time: Delivery within 12 months. Can be pre-fabricated and installed at site within days.
Small environmental impact: Platform can be moored close to shore and hoses reeled while not in operation. No seabed interaction.
Typical applications: Power generation from 50 to 350 MW
Why Jettyless? Avoid permitting delays due to small environmental impact with a floating system.

Floating Storage Unit (FSU)

Cost effective: An existing ship can be converted to an FSU, hence the full LNG terminal can be up and running within 12-16 months.
Optimising real estate: LNG storage is located offshore and sends LNG to regasification plant onshore.
Flexible: Both storage and transfer assets can easily be relocated should the local power demand change over time.
Typical applications: Power generation from 250 to 1,000 MW
Why Jettyless? Increase the operational envelope of the FSU, improving system uptime with a conventional mooring system.

Floating Storage & Regasification Barge (FSRB)

Eliminating Dredging: A combination of FSRB with the IQuay means that first gas can be provided in less than 24 months, at a fraction of the cost.
Optimising on real estate: LNG unloading through the IQuay and storage via the FSRB is located offshore and sends LNG to regasification facilities onshore, hence a terminal can be established at locations where land area is scarce.
Typical applications: Power generation from 100 - 350MW
Why Jettyless? Increase the operational envelope of the FSU, improving system uptime with a conventional mooring system.

Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU)

Fast-track: solution which can be fast-tracked to supply gas direct into domestic gas networks
Flexible: FSRU's are often deployed with a long-lease charter due the high initial CAPEX. If re-deployed, new marine berth will need to be constructed.
Cost effective: ECONNECT has developed an offloading solution for sending high pressure gas to shore direct from the FSRU, without the need for fixed infrastructure.
Typical applications: Power generation from 350 to 1,500 MW.
Why Jettyless? Reduce CAPEX, increase uptime and efficiency in emergency release procedure with a dedicated transfer skid mounted to the FSRU’s hull.

Floating transfer solutions for every type of terminal

Implementing the IQuay means: no need for a jetty, quay, loading platform, breasting dolphins, mooring dolphins, or personnel/pipe bridge to shore.
LNG storage and regasification can be moved offshore if real estate is limited.
The IQuay can be re-deployed to other locations should there be a change in energy demand.
